Perched organically on an evergreen hill overlooking the Ionian Sea, Olea long blurred the boundaries between architecture and landscape. Drawing on a tropical modernism sensibility embedded within Mediterranean tradition, the property’s design connects indoors and outdoors through a network of waterways and natural materials that respond to terrain and light.

At the heart of Olea’s architectural vision is water. The property’s sprawling lagoon-style pool, originally conceived as a 43,000-square-foot, lake-like centerpiece, winds through suites and communal spaces, creating fluid visual and physical connections throughout the estate. Surrounded by olive trees and indigenous vegetation, the structures appear to grow from the hillside itself, forging a seamless dialogue with the natural environment.

The resort uses natural materials like oak, bamboo and rattan alongside a muted, earthy palette of colors to soften transitions between interior and exterior and to foster a sense of freedom — a place where light, landscape and water become the ultimate amenities.

This year, the resort introduced a large outdoor pool and a fully equipped fitness center, daily yoga sessions in the olive grove or at the newly built yoga shala, guided breathwork, and restorative rituals tap into the hotel’s ongoing focus on mindful renewal, all set against a backdrop of Ionian Sea views.

The hotel’s expanded wellness programming is complemented by intuitive service and bespoke retreat experiences, positioning Olea as both a tranquil hideaway and refined destination for holistic wellbeing.
