On Oct. 7, Alexa+, Amazon’s next-gen AI assistant, announced a collaboration with OTA eDreams ODIGEO, the world’s leading travel subscription platform, bringing voice-forward technology and AI to travel and travel booking like never before.
“Not long ago, planning a trip meant an evening lost across dozens of tabs. The next generation of travelers will never know that happened,” said Carsten Bernhard, chief technology officer, eDreams ODIGEO.
Through the integration, customers can now find and book everything for a trip, from flights to hotels to car rentals, all by voice. This is made possible by Model Context Protocol, an open standard allowing AI models to connect to external platforms and data. Alexa+ and eDreams then work together to search and provide customers with relevant travel options.
“The development offers a glimpse into how AI will fundamentally change the way people book travel, with assistants like Alexa+ becoming a new shop window for travel, somewhere people can ask for what they want, while the travel platform does the work behind the scenes to find, price and book it,” said eDreams in a statement.
The process is made even more seamless with Amazon Wallet. After speaking to Alexa+ and finalizing your travel itinerary, you simply pay for it all in Amazon Wallet.
“Every major technological shift in history has made travel bigger and easier to discover, book and enjoy. Conversational artificial intelligence is the latest of these waves and a powerful accelerator for our business. We are delighted to bring the world’s largest travel subscription platform to Alexa+. This collaboration takes our travel offering to a major new audience and allows customers to reach everything we do through a single conversation,” added Bernhard.
The collaboration marks a direct application of an agentic distribution strategy where conversational AI becomes a new and powerful acquisition channel.
eDreams ODIGEO will act as the operational engine beneath conversational AI interfaces, managing the complexities of the global travel sector, from around-the-clock customer support to financial guarantees to extensive supplier integrations.
eDreams ODIGEO expects its travel subscription model to reach 13 million subscribers by March 2030.
While Alexa+ is already live and available to U.S. and Canada users, specific voice agents on Alexa+ will roll out individually, with platforms like Expedia for lodging and its massive global AI travel search partnership with eDreams ODIGEO launching throughout the rest of this year and into 2027. Alexa+ first added Expedia on Dec. 23, 2025, with official rollout capabilities available this year.

Oct 7, 2026Review: Prestige Oceanfront Resort
Vancouver Island gets progressively wilder as you leave Victoria behind and follow the coastline west. By the time you reach Sooke, about 45 minutes from the provincial capital, city blocks have surrendered to forests, rocky shoreline, sheltered coves and long views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Prestige Oceanfront Resort rises directly above Sooke Harbour, where boats move across the basin, and the Olympic Mountains form the horizon beyond the strait.
