In a world where we often equate “bigger” with “better” — superjumbo jets and vertigo-inducing skyscrapers come to mind — I was pleasantly surprised recently when I discovered Streamline, a small charter airline offering twice-daily, round-trip service connecting Hanscom Field (BED), about 20 miles northwest of Boston, and Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN), a convenient 10-minute drive from Global Traveler’s world headquarters in Yardley, Pa.

As some readers may know, I telecommute from an office about 15 miles south of Boston. For a recent trip to WHQ, I opted to forego the relatively short drive to Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) and the related stress of traffic, airport security and carry-on luggage limits in favor of a 40-mile drive to Hanscom Field and a direct, stress-free and — dare I say pleasant? — commuter flight to Trenton.
