GETTING THERE & AROUND
One of the world’s largest airports, Hong Kong International Airport serves Hong Kong and is the primary hub for Cathay Pacific, among other airlines. Airport Express train proves the best way to reach city center, avoiding road traffic and taking about 20 minutes. Bus and taxi service is also available. Once in the city, make use of the public transportation system; Mass Transit Railway is safe, clean, fast and easy to navigate. For another mode of transportation that doubles as sightseeing, plan a ride on the Star Ferry at least once during your stay.

Hong Kong’s popular contemporary art museum opened its doors in 2021. The museum focuses on 20th- and 21st-century visual art with a diverse collection showcasing design, architecture and moving images. Screenings take place at on-site M+ Cinema. The museum is closed Mondays. General admission starts around $25.
Temple Street Night Market
Temple Street Night Market, one of the city’s most popular open-air markets, offers a wide range of souvenirs and street food vendors. Visitors will find handmade goods, clothing, jewelry, vintage items, art and an array of other trinkets. Open daily, the market also hosts street performers and fortune tellers most nights.
Victoria Peak
Take in spectacular skyline views on your visit to Victoria Peak, the highest point on Hong Kong Island. Peak Tram, a funicular, brings visitors to the popular attraction. The tram operates daily, with departures every 10–20 minutes. Once at the summit, the space features walking trails, a viewing terrace, restaurants and shops. Time your trip to take in the sunset while on Peak Tram.
Global Traveler suggests skipping Sky Terrace at Victoria Peak and instead opting for The Peak Secret Viewpoint. Unobstructed views without the crowds found elsewhere await. Use the tram exit at Peak Mall, walk down Findlay Path and find yourself taking in the vistas. For a Chinese-style tea tasting, different than Western-style hotel high teas, visit LockCha Tea House in Admiralty.
