Daily

The lounge culture in Cape Town, South Africa, is alive and well, with a casual, beachy approach that embraces cocktail hour. For sea views and ambience, head to the rooftop bar and café at Chinchilla. The signature menu includes Lollies that Make Me Jolly, a refreshing collaboration that features an ice sorbet lollipop and sparkling wine. Try a Vanilla Orange Pomegranate Margarita made with Don Julio Tequila, orange-vanilla infused Martini Bianco, fresh lime and pomegranate juice. There’s also a Litchi and Basil G&T made with Tanqueray Gin, litchis, basil and tonic.

It’s all laid-back surfer cool at Tiger’s Milk, where a menu of pizzas, salads and mains is augmented with drink choices that include Islay in the Mist, made with Dewar’s 12YO, vanilla, lemon and smoke; and Thyme to Fig Out with Bombay Sapphire Gin, figs, thyme, lemon and Pongrácz.

At Harrington’s Cocktail Lounge, you can step up your game and dress to impress, then swish past the velvet curtains and settle into a plush booth. While live jazz or hip-hop plays, sip the night away with a Hazelnut Espresso Martini made with hazelnut fat-washed Grey Goose, espresso and coffee liqueur; or The Wilderer People, made with Wilderer Gin shaken with white Vermouth, peach puree, fresh lime and basil, and served straight up.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
