Just in time for summer, Jamaica is easier to enjoy than ever thanks to new hotels and excursions. This Caribbean island has never been more alive than this year, and this summer is to be its best one yet.
New Hotels
Three new hotels call Jamaica home this summer. Princess Grand Jamaica opens this June in the tropical oasis of Green Island Hanover, located 15 minutes from Negril. Featuring 590 spacious suites, Princess Grand Jamaica offers guests a wide range of amenities, including á la carte restaurants, six swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center, convention center and more. Even more, guests part of the brand’s Platinum Club receive benefits like private check-in, access to exclusive beach areas and premium drinks.
Princess Senses The Mangrove also hits the Jamaican scene, a luxury, adults-only retreat located on Green Island’s northwest coast. Featuring 415 ocean-view suites, including overwater villas and swim-out suites, the property is the ultimate oasis. Overwater villas come with their own infinity pools, too. The property boasts 15 bars, 14 dining venues, and immersive experiences and activities like mixology classes and spa treatments.
The third hotel opening in Jamaica this summer is Hotel Riu Palace Aquarelle, situated in Falmouth. This sleek property will feature 753 rooms with ocean views. The hotel’s all-inclusive, 24-hour concept means guests never go without their needs fulfilled. In addition to a gym and wellness center, the property includes six restaurants and bars, six swimming pools, and more.
New Excursions
Along the island’s north coast, visitors can soon take part in an adventure on the 2,000-acre Good Hope Estate with Chukka’s new V.I.P. tour. This new and exclusive tour includes private, round-trip transportation from major hotels in Montego Bay, Falmouth and Ocho Rios; private check-in; and reserved pool areas. The tour is the perfect way to enjoy the landscapes of Good Hope Estate.

May 6, 2024Explore Portugal on a Wine Tasting Tour with a Touch of History
All it takes is one glance at the grounds of Quinta Dona Maria, which includes a grand villa and surrounding gardens, to realize wine tasting in Portugal comes with a good dose of history. The vineyard is located in Estremoz, just northeast of the first-century Roman ruins found in Evora. In 1718 King João V built this estate for his lover, Dona Maria. When she died, the current owner’s ancestors purchased the land and have been making wine ever since. Taste the wine, which is terrific, especially the full-bodied red Dona Maria Grand Reserve. Then venture inside a building that stores large amphora vases, including one dating back to the 1200s.
