King David Wine Bar Adds To Jerusalem City Nightlife

Daily

Always a great choice for luxury accommodations and exceptional service, The King David hotel in Jerusalem just introduced its new wine bar. An extension of the Oriental Bar in the lobby, the new bar boasts an extensive listing of wines produced solely in Israel’s much-lauded wine regions. The bar’s wine list of 65 hand-selected choices reflects an alliance between the hotel’s sommelier and beverage manager Daniel Gidey and international wine consultant and sommelier Gal Zohar. Guided tasting sessions can be arranged, and wine enthusiasts are able to compose bespoke tasting flights from a menu that will change every two months. To pair with wines, executive chef David Biton offers a menu of delectable hors d’oeuvres such as baked Za’atar Focaccia, house-smoked salmon and cheeses that include both domestic and international choices. The King David Jerusalem Hotel is located a 15-minute walk away from the historic Old City. Newsletter sign-up

Review: Prestige Oceanfront Resort

Vancouver Island gets progressively wilder as you leave Victoria behind and follow the coastline west. By the time you reach Sooke, about 45 minutes from the provincial capital, city blocks have surrendered to forests, rocky shoreline, sheltered coves and long views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Prestige Oceanfront Resort rises directly above Sooke Harbour, where boats move across the basin, and the Olympic Mountains form the horizon beyond the strait.

The value of a destination is no longer defined solely by infrastructure, efficiency or scale. Increasingly, it is measured by a city’s ability to balance productivity with well-being — creating opportunities for focus, restoration and more meaningful connections.

Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
