While it’s impossible for every city to measure up to the tourism desirability of New York and London, every city has something worth visiting for. Despite its confusing name, Kansas City, Missouri, has a ton to draw in visitors from all over.

First of all, Kansas City is arguably famous for two things: barbecue and culture. The city is the perfect hub for travelers who want to visit downtown and experience the surrounding regions.

If you’re interested in traveling to Kansas City for its namesake cuisine, the Kansas City Barbecue Experience app is a must-have. The app lets users track their progress and check off which restaurants and dishes they tried during their stay.

Kansas City proper is just part of the charm the city offers. Its close proximity to other small towns and historic sites makes Kansas City an excellent place to make the hub of your travel. Travelers can visit several municipalities and towns in both Kansas and Missouri to experience local blues music and barbecue.

Kansas City is also home to many art galleries and institutions — don’t overlook these opportunities when planning your trip.

In addition to its revolutionary barbecue style, Kansas City is in the middle of a hotel renaissance. The city boasts many accommodation options for all types of travelers, including those with pets.

As underrated as it may be,  Kansas City is well worth visiting.
