Complete with a hidden back room and a secret door camouflaged by a bookcase, the 1920s décor includes a poker table, a small bar, dark wood paneling and period photos of flappers and G-men. The Terrace Suite creates a classic city oasis with a touch of greenery. The private terrace is decorated with hanging plants, strings of lights, an umbrella table, a lounge chair for two and a stunning view of the Empire State Building.

For the epitome of New York-style entertaining, head to the top: The Carlton’s newly renovated penthouse suites. The Corner Pocket features a 1950s Brunswick Centennial billiards table, a mahogany bar, a wraparound sofa and a 55-inch flat screen.
