Growing in popularity on the West Coast, Proper Hotels is a new line of swanky boutique stays. With locations in Austin, San Francisco and Santa Monica, Proper is expanding even further to attract a more budget-conscious traveler.

Hotel June will be the next of the Proper Hotels to open, located near Los Angeles International Airport. The property is slated to open this spring and will be on the site of the former Custom Hotel.

Hotel June will evoke a more laid-back atmosphere, taking notes from its coastal location and implementing such elements into its design. Proper will be sure to highlight some of its signature pieces, like custom-made furniture, sisal carpets and hand-glazed tiles in the bathrooms, adorned by Aesop bath products.

Guests will be able to dine at Hotel June’s restaurant and bar, both managed by folks from Scopa Italian Roots and Black Market Liquor Bar, popular L.A. establishments. The Caravan Swim Club will feel more like a neighbor’s backyard with private cabanas, fire pits and occasional pop-ups like wine bars, musical performances or other community-based activities.

Compared with $400-a-night room rates at Proper Hotels, rooms at Hotel June will start at $250 per night.
