Known for its rich history dating to the Paleolithic period, archaeological sites and the energetic capital city of Amman, Jordan is a well-established tourism destination and visitor numbers continue to grow.
To accommodate the rising numbers, major hotel groups like Hyatt, Jumeirah, Starwood and The Ritz Carlton plan to open several 5-star hotels throughout 2018.
One of the most anticipated is Hyatt’s second hotel in Jordan, Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla, scheduled to open in the second quarter. The 286-room hotel will offer business and leisure facilities, including five dining and drink venues, a private beach club, two pools and a spa.
Also opening in the city of Aqaba is Jumeirah’s Qasr Al Aqaba, one of two new hotels operated by the company set to open in Jordan in 2018. It will offer 285 rooms and suites, a pool and a private beach on the Saraya Lagoon. The second Jumeirah hotel to open this year will be The Al Qala’a.
Located on the shores of the Red Sea, the Al Manara, a Luxury Collection Hotel, will have 207 rooms, including 38 signature suites overlooking Saraya Aqaba lagoon or the Negev and Sinai mountains.
In Amman, St. Regis makes its debut with the opening of The St. Regis Amman, set to become a landmark attraction in the city’s affluent Abdoun district. It will have 260 luxurious rooms, including 40 branded residences, restaurants, a fitness center, a signature spa and the brand’s iconic butler service. The hotel is set to open in May.
The W Hotel Amman will open in the spring, offering a vibrant urban sanctuary boasting a contemporary design in Amman’s financial district.
Fairmont and The Ritz-Carlton properties will also open in the capital city.
