Newport Beach, California, is the place to be over Memorial Day weekend when the 19th Annual Newport Beach Wine Festival kicks off on the grounds of Balboa Bay Resort. Over the course of three days, guests to ticketed events will enjoy live music and exceptional wines, some of which can be savored during the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brunch and the Justin Winery Limited Release Wine Dinner.
“We look forward to this weekend all year long,” expressed Cindy Racco, managing director, Balboa Bay Resort and Club. “With our picturesque surroundings, it’s the ultimate destination to unwind with a glass of wine or [to] explore a variety of spirits. We’re thrilled to host this extraordinary event once again.”
A four-course dinner sets the stage on May 24 when the resort’s Executive Chef Prabeen Prathapan and Master Sommelier Joseph Spellman host the Justin Winery Limited Release Wine Dinner in the property’s Lighthouse Room. This highly anticipated culinary event will include the unveiling of a selection of new wines, including Sonoma County Chardonnay and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
Backdropped by stunning views of the bay and live music, a Grand Tasting of more than 40 wines and spirits will be showcased May 25. Accompanied by buffet stations with tantalizing gourmet tidbits, this event will include some of the resort’s favorite vendors, such as DAOU, Whispering Angel, Flecha Azul and Macallan. The festival’s grand finale is the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brunch, with enticing carving and omelet stations, plenty of favorite dishes and glasses of Veuve Clicquot Champagne.
Guests booking a room at the resort for the festival will receive a 10 percent discount on room rates and event tickets. Thanks to a partnership with Lucid Motors, complimentary chauffeured transportation will be provided between the resort and its Fashion Island shopping plaza.
