THE JOURNEY BEGINS before the flight and, for this reason, the renovated Casa Alitalia lounges await Alitalia guests with an elegant yet comfortable design.
AS A FURTHER STEP in its ground and in-flight services re-launch plan, Alitalia recently opened its new Casa Alitalia flagship lounges at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa airports. The Casa Alitalia guest experience celebrates traditional Italian hospitality where attention to detail and the typical warm welcome will make Alitalia guests from around the world feel at home.
THIS NEW CONCEPT was developed and created by Alitalia and transformed into reality by the internationally famed Italian architect Marco Piva, who incorporated in the functional space of an airport lounge the beauty and essence of Italy. The organization of the space and the quality of the materials used, for example the marble, reflect an art of living distinctively Italian. Casa Alitalia has been designed to be more like an Italian home than a public space, and the interiors — the reception hall, relaxation and conversation areas, cooking and dining areas — have been designed to be similar to those of a beautiful Italian house. The experience begins at the lounge entrance where a door, inspired by the main door of an Italian palazzo, separates the chaotic environment of the airport from the comfortable and elegant atmosphere of Casa Alitalia. The different areas of the lounges are connected as if they were rooms of a house. At the center of it all, like a beating heart, is the area dedicated to the kitchen and wine cellar.
THE CATERING SERVICE at Casa Alitalia in Rome and Milan reflects Italian culinary excellence and includes a live cooking area where , twice a day, chefs prepare a selection of pasta dishes and pizzas in front of the guests. In addition, there is a buffet and bar area where travelers can try a selection of Italian wines or enjoy a typical aperitivo prepared by a professional bartender. Casa Alitalia’s services also include VIP rooms for private meetings, a library, a prayer and meditation area, bathrooms with showers and WiFi connectivity.
CASA ALITALIA IS not just a place to relax while waiting for a flight, but a showcase for the unique quality of Italian excellence, thanks to partnerships with leading Italian brands, such as Poltrona Frau, for the furnishings and seating; Cantine Ferrari, Alitalia’s official sparkling wine supplier; Lavazza, which created exclusive coffee blends for the Italian airline; and Terme di Sirmione, whose wellness products are available to guests.
CASA ALITALIA AT ROME FIUMICINO is located in boarding area G — for long- and medium-haul extra-Schengen flights — and covers an area of approximately 800 square meters, with more than 115 seats for guests. At Milan Malpensa, Casa Alitalia has a new location in the Satellite Nord boarding area, and covers about 500 square meters, providing more than 90 seats. Guests of Casa Alitalia at Malpensa will also be able to board the aircraft directly from the lounge by means of a dedicated jetway.
CASA ALITALIA LOUNGES are reserved for Alitalia’s Business Class guests and top-tier frequent-flyer members of Alitalia’s MilleMiglia and Partners’ loyalty programs.
