InterContinental Hotels Group recently opened a new property in Oxford. The new voco Oxford Spires is a 181-guestroom property on University College Oxford grounds next to the River Thames. Guests are within walking distance of Oxford’s historic city center, 15th-century landmarks and the University College Oxford boathouse.
Special touches guests enjoy throughout their stay include welcome treats like orange marmalade chocolate tarts, a nod to orange marmalade made in Oxford, and bedding made from 100 percent recycled materials. A large emphasis is placed on sustainability throughout the hotel, so guests find bulk-sized beauty products in guest bathrooms and glass water bottles in each guestroom.
The on-site dining is Deacons Restaurant, with locally inspired dishes, and the adjacent Deacon Lounge. The hotel provides a health club with a spa, steam room, Jacuzzi, pool and treatment rooms.

Saint Lucia announced a phased plan to reopen island tourism responsibly, beginning June 4. Phase One includes welcoming international flights at Hewanorra International Airport from the United States only. In preparation, 1,500 hotel rooms are being prepared to open. The approach to reopening continues through July 31.
