Elegant, iconic and an undisputed leader in the realm of hotel luxury, Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin is ideally located across from Brandenburg Gate, where Pariser Platz meets Unterden Linden Boulevard. Adding to its timeless allure are new culinary and wine offerings, providing guests with an opportunity to go behind the curtain at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer.

The restaurant is helmed by Chef Jonas Zörner, where menu highlights include such dishes as Carabinero prawns with Imperial caviar, black hake with bouillabaisse, and wagyu short rib.

During the new Lorenz Adlon Experience, participating guests visit Chef Zörner’s kitchen and enjoy a six-course menu with aperitif and wine pairing. Additionally, the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer option includes not only the six-course dinner, but also an overnight stay and a Champagne breakfast complete with caviar. Guests will also leave with a signed chef’s apron, a signature recipe and an Adlon-made gift.

A series of exclusive autumn wine dinners draw from the restaurant’s celebrated wine cellar of more than 1,600 labels. Among the cellar’s accolades are a Silver Star distinction from Sweden’s Star Wine List. Upcoming dinners include Live at the Pass: The Winemakers’ Dinner on Oct. 24, where guests will watch as each course is prepared in front of them. Adding to the excitement, pairings will be guided by distinctive winemakers.

“Our cuisine is driven by passion, an uncompromising commitment to quality, precision and curiosity,” said Chef Zörner. “When guests experience this atmosphere for themselves, a very special connection is formed with what is later served to them on their plates.”

Later this autumn on Nov. 14, rare wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (including the iconic 2019 Romanée-Conti Grand Cru and La Tâche Grand Cru) will be celebrated during “Great Burgundies Against a Grand Backdrop.” These noted wines will be paired with a menu created by Chef Zörner.

The series will wind up Nov. 29 with an inaugural Goose Dinner. This sophisticated reimagining on the traditional holiday meal will feature goose from Polting Estate, paired with wines selected by award-winning head sommelier Hans-Martin Konrad.

Review: Bodysgallen Hall

The National Trust owns more than 500 historic buildings across the United Kingdom, each offering a vivid sense of its particular era. In common with many visitors, I often find myself wondering what it would be like to actually live in such a place. Imagine sitting, for instance, in one of those ancient oak-paneled drawing rooms at night, with the fire roaring and the wind rattling the ancient mullioned windows. I didn’t have to imagine it. Here I was, immersed in history in 17th-century Bodysgallen Hall in North Wales.
