Luckily for GT readers, the image consultant is offering some of her best tips without her usual daily fee of 200 euros (about $260).

Nişantaşı has a plethora of haute couture options sure to please any fashionista. Tavaşi leads clients to unexpected historical and prêt-à-porter boutiques as well as the usual big names. “Shopping in Nişantaşı is not just about visiting high-end brands, but it is also about exploring new, unknown, creative Turkish designers hidden among historical buildings,” Tavaşi says.

Tavaşi’s first tip: Prepare to explore on foot. “Travelers must be ready for Nişantaşı’s small but long streets by wearing comfortable, chic outfits because you never know who [you’ll] meet in the small boutiques of Nişantaşı,” she says.

The beautiful antique streets are lined with closely packed shops. Along Teşvikiye Street, stop by Gucci and Emporio Armani. Breathe in haute couture perfection along Abdi İpekçi Street, considered to be Istanbul’s most expensive address. Here, shoppers feast their eyes and sink their bank accounts at Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Chanel. Head to Turkish department stores Beymen and Vakko for a concentrated high-end fashion experience. Another tip from Tavaşi: Look for up-and-coming Turkish designers who are sure to boast tomorrow’s must-have labels. For futuristic style, Tavaşi recommends heading to Burçe Bekrek along Kadirgalar Street, within easy walking distance of Abdi İpekçi Street. For one-of-a-kind dresses, Elif Cığızoğlu on Teşvikiye Street is your destination. Another can’t-miss emerging artist is Asli Filinta, whose collection is among those featured at Fey, a whimsical boutique located at Mim Kemal Öke in Nişantaşı. “Asli Filinta’s collection, inspired by art pieces, is the reflection of her creative young mind,” Tavaşi says. “I believe her special skills will bring her international success.” One last piece of advice from Tavaşi: Don’t forget to refresh. “The House Café, at The House Hotel, is a good spot to have dinner with friends after a long, exhausting shopping day,” she says. “I also recommend La Brise, along Mim Kemal Öke, where you can have some afternoon happy-hour drinks to spare some time for yourself.”
