EL AL Israel Airlines introduced a new menu for business-class passengers departing Israel, developed by chef Shahaf Shabtay.
The menu options include appetizers like grilled artichoke with chimichurri and Romanian-style zucchini. The main menu has dishes like a three-hour asado, spring chicken with bulgur in red-wine sauce, tilapia, fish filet kadaif and “cooky bag” spring chicken (chicken cooked in a bag). There are also new desserts, including a chocolate and hazelnut tartlet or pistachio caramel crunch brownie and pistachio macaroon.
The airline serves Israeli wines only, including Blanc de Blancs Yarden Golan Heights Winery 2010, Sauvignon Blanc Galil Mountains 2017 and a Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve ‘Kerem Lebanon’ Recanati Winery 2016.
“The inauguration of the business-Class menu is part of the strategic process intended to improve both service and product on our flights. The new menus were planned to provide our passengers with a diverse international culinary experience of the highest caliber,” said Amir Rogovski, vice president, customers and service, EL AL Israel Airlines.
The airline is planning to improve dishes across all classes through its new culinary strategy. Further details on those plans haven’t been released yet.
