PGA WEST, known as The Western Home of Golf in America, recently announced the completion of its multimillion-dollar, three-year restoration project across its three acclaimed, Pete Dye-designed courses. This new revitalization project allows the iconic 2,000-acre golf destination to continue setting the bar for golf courses around the world. These courses are ready to amaze members and guests all over again.
Its new owners include Hankuk Industry, led by Chairman Shin II Yoo, who owns golf courses throughout the United States and Japan. Century Golf Partners also owns the revitalized PGA West. Century Golf Partners are an established operator of high-end clubs and resorts, committed to ensuring PGA WEST remains best in class within the industry.
Tim Liddy, ASGCA Fellow, established golf architect, and someone who worked and collaborated with Pete Dye for nearly three decades, was tasked with the transformation of Stadium, Mountain and Dunes courses.
“The goal of this restoration project was to bring the courses back to their original conditions as Pete Dye first conceived them, while also upgrading elements for enhanced playability and sustainability,” said Ben Dobbs, executive director, PGA WEST. “We are thrilled to showcase the results of each renewed course, offering an unforgettable experience for golfers of every skill level while solidifying PGA WEST’s standing as one of the top golf destinations in the world.”
Throughout the process, Liddy uncovered original aspects of the courses to bring them back to their earlier beauty. The work was performed carefully by hand digging around the bunkers and greens to discover the original sand lines. He also removed turf and layers of other materials that had built up over the years.
PGA WEST also added new world-class amenities across the property and updated Pete Dye Clubhouse. The clubhouse now has new event spaces, a revamped golf shop, a new restaurant called The Bunker Bar, golf simulators and more.
The new Stadium Course is ready just in time to host the PGA TOUR’s The American Express Golf Tournament in January, and will offer new, exhilarating and challenging holes for the competitors.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort on Coconut Road in Bonita Springs, Florida, on the Gulf Coast between Naples and Fort Myers. The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.
