As part of its international network expansion, Royal Air Maroc will reinstate the direct Casablanca–Beijing route initially launched in January 2020 and suspended just a few weeks later due to the health crisis.
Starting January 20, 2025, Royal Air Maroc relaunches this direct route with three weekly frequencies. Flights departing from Casablanca (CMN) will operate Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 3:15 p.m. (local time), landing the next day at Beijing International Airport at 10:50 a.m. (local time). Flights from Beijing will depart Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 12:50 p.m. (local time) and arrive in Casablanca at 8:15 p.m. (local time). The flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 302 seats, including 26 in business class.
“We are very pleased to resume the first direct route connecting Morocco and China. The Casablanca–Beijing line is primarily aimed at developing Moroccan tourism since 80 percent of the traffic on this route will be international tourists. This highly anticipated route will also further strengthen the economic and trade relations between the two countries,” stated Mr. Hamid Addou, CEO, Royal Air Maroc.

Royal Air Maroc also launches a new route connecting Casablanca to Toronto, expanding the airline’s network across the Americas.
The new direct route connecting Casablanca to Toronto (YYZ), Canada, starts Dec. 8, 2024, and will operate three times a week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday). Flights are scheduled to depart from Casablanca at 4:45 p.m. (local time) and arrive in Toronto at 7:25 p.m. (local time). Return flights will leave Toronto at 9:30 p.m. (local time) and land in Casablanca at 10:50 a.m. the following day. The flights will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
This marks the national airline’s second direct route to Canada, strengthening Royal Air Maroc’s Americas network, which currently includes direct flights connecting its Casablanca hub to Montréal (YUL); New York (JFK); Washington, D.C. (IAD); Miami (MIA); and São Paulo (GRU), the latter of which will be reinstated as of Dec. 7.
“The upcoming launch of the Casablanca–Toronto route primarily addresses the high demand from Moroccans living in Canada, particularly in Ontario. It will thus enhance the substantial existing services of the airline, which has operated the historic Casablanca–Montréal route since 1975, offering two flights per day. The flights to Toronto and Montreal will provide even more convenience and comfort to our citizens living in Canada,” emphasized Addou. “This new route is part of the airline’s commitments under the Development Plan signed with the government in July 2023; it will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening economic relations between the two countries as well as to enhancing the tourism appeal of Morocco.”
Both flights are available for purchase on the airline’s website at www.royalairmaroc.com.
