Catering to foodies from all over the globe, Urban Adventures creates food tours in countries around the world that show off the best of a culture’s food scene. If you’re in Central America soon, look out for these options.
Holy Guatemole! Food and Market Tour
Take a stroll along La Sexta Avenida, with a stop for breakfast, including coffee and freshly baked goods. The tour takes you through neighborhoods of beautiful Art Deco architecture and revitalized spaces mixed with beautiful historic structures. Visit one of Central America’s largest markets, the Mercado Centrale, where you can taste the freshest local produce. The market’s food court serves up Guatemalan staples. The tour ends with a stop at a café for more coffee and Guatemalan desserts.
Antigua by the Bean
If you prefer coffee culture over culinary creations, perhaps you’d rather explore Guatemala’s coffee scene. This tour does just that, taking you on a journey through Guatemala’s coffee culture, from bean to brew. If you’re lucky, you’ll get the chance to plant some coffee seedlings, harvest some beans and meet local farmers.
Taste of Panama City
Sample fresh, fine coffee, including the famous Geisha coffee, to start off your day, before you head through the UNESCO-recognized neighborhood of Casco Viejo. Try some Panamanian chocolate, followed by some local Panamanian brews. Lunch takes you to a local seafood market to try the national dish, ceviche, before you end your day with cocktails created from some of the country’s oldest rum.

Welcome to Rhodes, a medieval treasure beautifully preserved throughout the centuries. Rhodes is the capital of the Dodecanese, an island ideal not only for those who want to relax, but also for those looking for an action-packed holiday! With its bright green hills, rich green valleys and uninterrupted line of golden beaches, Rhodes is truly a blessed place. “The sun island” has more sunshiny days and milder temperatures throughout the year than any other location in Greece. It is, after all, one of the country’s easternmost places and among the first to welcome summer on its impressive beaches. Add in the excellent facilities for tourism, the island’s special blend of cosmopolitan and traditional, and numerous cultural and archaeological sites, the most important being the Medieval (Old) Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and you’ve got the perfect holiday destination. While on Rhodes, don’t miss a daytrip to nearby Sými. An island of sponge divers and seamen, Sými used to have 30,000 inhabitants before the Second World War and was the richest island in the Dodecanese, despite its small size. Today, Sými attracts many visitors thanks to its beautifully preserved Neo-Classical buildings and the famous Archangel Michael monastery at Panormitis.
