I had three nights of delicious food and wonderful music at Sketchbook Brewing Company, becoming my “go to” place. The pop-up kitchens and visiting food trucks allow me to sample area food, and this summer they added music to the mix.
Last weekend Sketchbook partnered with Evanston SPACE to present the SPACE x series featuring The Flat Five, Split Single and Jon Langford + His Fancy Men on consecutive nights. The usually unseen dock area for Sketchbook was converted into a uniquely cool, intimate music space.

Evanston SPACE is a nearby music venue. While I have seen several acts there, this was the first time they brought music to me.

For food, Libertad provided Latin American dishes, Chicago Lunchbox offered Asian fusion delights, and Soul & Smoke brought barbecue specialties. The three completely different food menus featured a lot of options, big and small, but all full of flavor.

Sketchbook Brewing Company is changing the game in Skokie. I have never seen this much of a buzz for any new business, especially since they added food and music. I don’t know what’s next, but I can’t wait to find out.
