As we are beginning our entrance to fall and leaving summer behind us, one of the things I’m most excited for is football. With my fantasy team drafted and tickets for Eagles games locked and loaded, I’m ready for this upcoming season. Being a lifelong Eagles fan requires a lot of hard work and dedication, and the team decided to extend our time rooting for the Birds by hosting a block party in Fairmount before the start of the season. Living in the neighborhood, I knew it was crucial that I walk down to check it out.
My friend and I headed down and immediately were impressed with the set-up, including games, tons of food, giant figures of the players, huge helmets to pose with, and a fun 360 photo booth. There was also a stage with a DJ, trivia, and guest appearances from some of the players.
Once we got there and did a lap, it was essential that we took photos wherever we could and get in front of the stage to see the action. Afterwards, we stopped for food and some drinks. There were plenty of options like craft beverages, cocktails, tacos, dumplings and pizza, but the foot-long dogs and Miller Lites were calling our names (naturally, as we are in tailgate training). Also lining the streets were vendors for apparel and more, including the Kelly Green jerseys the Eagles just launched.
All in all, it was a fun afternoon that got us excited for this season. I will be attending the first Sunday game at home in a couple of weeks, so I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about the Birds from me soon enough!
