Garnering national attention as a great travel destination, Baltimore, Maryland, has lots of culinary and literary offerings to enchant visitors. Soon to join the city’s dining scene in the Old Goucher neighborhood, Socle is planned as a complex comprised of Larder café, Fadensonnen beer garden, Sophomore Coffee bar, plus an artist’s residency.

On McHenry Row, The Urban Oyster will open in February 2019, with a full-service raw bar, seasonal seafood dishes (think Maryland crab cakes on homemade potato bread) and a brunch menu. For vegan and organic fare, L’Eau de Vie brasserie in Fell’s Point will serve up dishes such as frites with garlic aioli and seitan sausage Reubens; while the Little Fig Bake Shop’s menu includes all-vegan chickun[sic]-and-waffles donuts, custom cakes and pop tarts. The shop is located at Stall 11 in the R. House food hall.

Post meal, slow down and wander through the city’s collection of charming bookshops. At Atomic Books in the Hampden neighborhood, indie comics reign (this is the address where John Waters’ fan mail collects), while browsers can pause for beer and wine in the shop’s Eightbar lounge. New York publishing veteran turned Maryland resident Julia Fleischaker just opened Greedy Reads in Fell’s Point, where shopping for books is augmented with events, book clubs and literary discussions. At the café-bookshop Bird in Hand, linger for a bite or a cup of steaming coffee while perusing the shop’s selection of books.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
