Arrival/Check-In: The hotel is part of a brand-new complex called The Square that incorporates an elegant interior courtyard concept within the airport complex — complete with select restaurants — and a second Hilton option, the Hilton Garden Inn. As soon as I entered The Square and approached the desk, a member of the staff stepped forward to greet me. Check-in was exceptionally smooth, and I was escorted to my room on one of the two executive-level floors. The glass elevators require a room key to function, which added to my sense of comfort and safety. After my bags had been deposited, I was shown the entrance to the executive lounge and how to access the space using my room key.
Guest Quarters: My spacious, light-filled room, fashioned in soothing earth tones by JOI-Design, had a generous desk and ample surface space, along with an ergonomic Mirra chair designed by Herman Miller and a cushioned footrest. Huge, soundproof windows offered nice views of a nearby forested area and the Frankfurt skyline. The king-sized Hilton Serenity Bed was comfortable, and the large closet had automatic lighting that turned on when the door was opened. The well-designed bathroom featured a large, walk-in shower and separate soaking tub. My room included a small refrigerator, a clock radio with an MP3 connection, easy-to-access electrical outlets and plenty of lighting — plus the option of black-out curtains for day naps. I was especially pleased there was a separate tea kettle — having to run hot water through a coffeemaker to make tea leaves an unpleasant taste and is one of my hotel pet peeves.
Services/Amenities: WiFi is complimentary at the executive level. The spacious executive lounge offers a nice selection of hot and cold dishes in the evening, cakes and sweets in the afternoon and a generous breakfast spread. Beverages and other snacks are available 24 hours a day. There are 10 state-of-the-art meeting rooms with ample natural light. The 24-hour fitness center — with steam and sauna — is shared with the Hilton Garden Inn, along with an elegant ballroom and private parking facility. Though I didn’t dine in the restaurants, international cuisine is available at two: Rise and The Fifth Lounge & Bar. Pastries and cakes are supplied to the hotel by world champion pastry chef Bernd Siefert.
The Experience: The service, from check-in to departure, was gracious and superbly efficient. Despite being located at the nexus of two of Germany’s busiest motorways, a major train and metro station, and busy runways, my room was serene and quiet. I was especially impressed with the help I received after asking if there was a railway ticket information kiosk nearby, as I needed to make some changes to my itinerary traveling on to Munich by train. A member of the desk staff immediately offered to escort me to the kiosk and dealt with the ticket changes on my behalf. I travel to Germany frequently and will definitely stay here on future trips.

May 30, 2025By-the-cabin Yachting Redefines the Cruise Experience
I wish this day could last forever!” my windswept 9-year-old exclaimed, his voice soaring over the Mediterranean. He gripped the helm of a Bali 4.6 sailing catamaran off the coast of Marseille, his sun- bleached hair whipping in the salty breeze. The scent of the sea mingled with the aroma of warm baguettes drifting from the Côte d’Azur shoreline. Our captain, a seasoned sailor, subtly adjusted course, letting my son feel the exhilarating pull of the wind against the sails. As the waves lapped against the hull, I realized this was no ordinary vacation — this was freedom, unfiltered.
