The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Fla., will be the setting for the Naples Winter Wine Festival Jan. 26–28, 2018. A benefit event for the Naples Children & Education Foundation, the festival includes numerous events hosted by award-winning chefs and vintners. These include The Vintage Cellar, featuring a pre-festival wine tasting and luncheon at Blue Provence with a vertical tasting of Opus One.
The festival opens with a Vintner’s Dinner, where guests will be chauffeured to one of 17 dinners hosted in private homes and other settings in Naples. Celebrity chefs include Peter Brunel of Borgo San Jacopo in Florence, Italy; Mario Corti and Christoph Rainer of Luce d’Oro in Bavaria, Germany; Dominique Crenn of Atelier Crenn in San Francisco; Evan Funke of Felix in Venice, Calif.; Jonathan Waxman of Barbuto in New York; and Eric Ziebold of Kinship in Washington, D.C.
Attending sommeliers include Bob Bath from the Culinary Institute of America, Fernando Beteta from Tenzing Wine & Spirits in Chicago; Jason Heller of Scale Wine Group in Yountville, Calif.; Jarad Slipp of RdV Vineyards in Delaplane, Va.; Larry Stone of Lingua Franca in Salem, Ore.; and Emily Wines of Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants in Oakland, Calif. Award recipients at the festival will include Michelin-starred Gary Danko of Restaurant Gary Danko as chef de cuisine; along with David R. Duncan and Karynne Duncan of Silver Oak, who will be honored vintners.
