Icelandic carrier WOW Airlines is offering free flights as part of a plan to show off the culture and scenery of the Nordic island nation. Here’s the catch, though: You must be a British citizen relocating to Iceland to qualify. United Kingdom citizens have until Oct. 1, to qualify for a free ticket. WOW is banking on Iceland’s reputation as a quality destination to lure new residents. The country has an almost non-existent crime rate, has ranked as the most peaceful country in the world by the World Economic Forum over the past several years and ranks third as the happiest country in the world. Known as the Land of Fire and Ice, there are plenty of natural wonders to explore, too, reports The Daily Star. The country is also a great location for viewing the Northern Lights, an activity on the bucket list of nearly half of all Brits. To partake in the WOW offer, people must send proof of their intention to take up residency in Iceland. This could include a lease agreement, employment letter or university acceptance letter. The offer insists on a minimum of 12 months residency, and you must purchase a ticket with WOW first, with a refund coming once applications are accepted.
