Though air travel can be one of the most stressful and inconvenient of life’s activities, a new Wall Street Journal study shows the experience, overall, is improving.

“This year’s annual Middle Seat Scorecard, which ranks airline performance on seven different measures important to travelers, reveals progress in air travel,” says the WSJ.

Among the findings for 2015:

• About 80 percent of U.S. airline flights arrived on time, up from 76 percent in 2014
• U.S. airlines canceled 100 fewer flights a day, on average, than in 2014
• Late or lost bags dropped 9 percent
• Spirit Airlines had the highest rate of customer complaints in 2015 of the nine airlines studied
• United Airlines lags behind its competitors in most categories, despite making improvements in several areas last year
• Delta Air Lines improved service in all categories, and remains among the best airlines for on-time performance, baggage handling and bumped passengers
• Hawaiian Airlines also earned high marks in the seven categories studied
