United Airlines recently launched its Miles on a Mission platform. Miles on a Mission gives United MileagePlus members an easier way to donate miles to nonprofits and charities and features 12 launch partners. Each charity partner is featured on the platform for 28 days, with a goal of receiving at least 250,000 donated miles. As each partner reaches its miles goal, a new charity is added to the platform in its place. United plans to donate 2 million miles to the charities in addition to member donations.

Organizations and nonprofits currently featured on the platform include OperationUSA, Holocaust Museum Houston, NJ LEEP, Swim Across America, Watts of Love, Waves for Water, The Transplant Life Foundation, Off-The-Grid Missions, Miles4Migrants, Animal Lighthouse Rescue and Adaptive Cycling Foundation.

“We want to make a difference in the communities where our customers and employees live, work and fly,” said Sharon Grant, vice president and chief community engagement officer, United Airlines. “Miles on a Mission not only allows us to connect with even more organizations than before but also gives our customers a new way to use their miles in a way that supports the charities and causes that mean the most to them.”
