Beginning late spring 2018, United Airlines will offer four new routes from the United States to Europe.

Two of these routes will depart from the airline’s hub in Newark (EWR) and travel to Reykjavik (RKV) (May 23–Oct. 4, 2018) and Porto, Portugal (OPO) (May 4–Oct. 4, 2018). This will make United the first U.S. airline to employ a non-stop route to the Portuguese city.

A third route will provide daily service from another of United’s hubs at Washington Dulles International Airport to Edinburgh, Scotland (EDI), available May 23–Oct. 4, 2018. The fourth route will debut June 7, 2018, and connect San Francisco (SFO) with a non-stop, 11-hour route to Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH).

United plans to continue international expansion to connect its domestic customers through direct flights to popular spots abroad. These four new routes join three others recently introduced or re-introduced, including Los Angeles (LAX) to Singapore (SIN) and Houston (IAH) to Sydney (SYD), the longest routes traveled by any U.S. airline.

Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”

Why Japan Is Best Explored by Sea with Princess

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons —  feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.
