In the latest package of measures designed to improve ride-hailing company Uber’s image, Uber Technology Inc. will now connect U.S. riders directly to emergency number 911. In case of an emergency, simply tap on 911 assistance, connecting users with a help center as well as share the live location of the rider. The app will have a dedicated “safety center” feature that includes information on driver screening processes, insurance protections and community guidelines.

Passengers will also be able to designate up to five friends or family members as “trusted contacts” and share trip details during every ride. The new features are scheduled to become available this summer.

These changes come during a class-action lawsuit for poor driver vetting, which led to a series of sexual harassment incidents. Improvements are part of an effort by current CEO Dara Khosrowshahi to refurbish Uber’s image and put several scandals to bed after former CEO Travis Kalanick’s departure.

Enhancements to how Uber screens its drivers are being made, including annual background checks and automatic notifications when a driver commits a criminal offense.

The company will also add new services including car-sharing and train tickets to its features in order to become a one-stop transportation shop.
