If your next business trip brings you to Dublin, there are lots of things to do during your stay. If you are only in Dublin for a short time, though, these are the must-see sights.

Dublin Castle is a historic government complex dating back to 1204. Until the 1920s the complex acted as the seat of Britain’s power in Ireland. The complex is open daily, 9:45 a.m.–5:45 p.m. Tickets are sold on site, but reservations can be booked online.

If beer is of more interest to you than history, take a stop by the Guinness Store House. The storehouse is Ireland’s most famous tourist attraction, bringing together beer lovers from all over the world. The tour takes guests through seven floors before concluding at a rooftop bar where visitors receive a pint of the beer.

The Spire of Dublin is a sight that can be experienced in much less time than a full tour of a castle complex or brewery. The spire is a tall, stainless-steel monument. It is also called The Monument of Light. It is 120 meters tall and located at the site of the former Nelson’s Pillar.

Fans of religious history, make an effort to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Christ Church Cathedral. Christ Church was erected in roughly 1030, while St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin was built in 1191. It is the national cathedral of the Church of Ireland.
