Hitting the high seas may conjure images of all-you-can-eat buffets, screaming kids and way too many people. The Ritz-Carlton plans to change this image with the introduction of a new cruise line, bringing the same level of service and sophistication it brings to its hotel properties.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will include 623-foot-long vessels, much smaller than standard cruise ships, making it easier to navigate into ports larger ships cannot access, such as St. Barths, Capri and Portofino. An essential floating hotel, the yachts feature 149 guest suites and two penthouse suites.
Dining options rival those of luxury resorts, including a restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Sven Elverfeld. Passengers can also kick back at the signature The Ritz-Carlton Spa and take part in on-land excursions that expose them to the local culture through food, music and art.
Rooms are ready to book for The Ritz-Carlton’s maiden voyage, scheduled to depart in early 2019.
