Prague soon welcomes The Julius, Prague, this July, a hotel offering an entirely new hospitality experience for the modern traveler. Drawing on 160 years of service, quality and innovation, the founding Julius Meinl family of Viennese food emporium Julius Meinl am Graben mark their entry into the world of travel with this new property. The new hotel lies within a large-scale neo-Renaissance building in the center of New Town, a short walk from Prague’s Old Town gates.
Balancing warmth, comfort and convenience with luxury and modern design, The Julius, Prague caters to both the short-term and long-term traveler. Designed by design firm Matteo Thun & Partners, the hotel features spacious communal areas, relaxing lounges and professional co-working spaces for guests to network or simply unplug and relax.
The Julius, Prague includes 168 individual residences, all connected by communal areas and a central light-filled conservatory. Whether staying for one night, one week, one month or more, the hotel’s hassle-free access, easy-to-use technology and flexible amenities make it the perfect place to stay.
The communal areas, residences and restaurants features soft furnishings complemented by a warm and clean color palette, all inspired by the works of famed artist Alphonse Mucha. Each residence includes an individual living room and bedroom space accented with pastel coloring, oak wood floors, soft linen sheets and contemporary bathrooms. Most residences come with an open-plan kitchen.
Sitting at the heart of the property, The Emporium bistro and bar offers guests the perfect setting for lunch, dinner or drinks. The dimmed lights create a relaxed atmosphere, and sleek metallic finishes accentuate modern tilework and colored, comfortable seating.

The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

I am looking out at Vietnam’s largest city from the country’s tallest building. Sitting in a comfortable chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window, I have taken in the view in daylight and darkness at dusk and dawn. It’s ever-changing and always hypnotic.
