The Tampa EDITION, Tampa’s first 5-star-rated hotel, was recently awarded the city’s first-ever Michelin star thanks to the work of John Fraser. Fraser, a chef and restauranteur, leads Lilac, the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant. Fraser highlights locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, all while paying homage to his Greek heritage.
In addition to shareable small plates as part of a fixed-price menu, Lilac also features elevated classic cocktails with a Mediterranean twist. Signature dishes like locally sourced grouper cooked in a cataplana are widely popular among guests. Other beloved dishes include short rib cooked on a rotisserie and herbed pasta with a soft egg and sherry-braised chanterelle mushrooms.

“Earning a Michelin star for Lilac is an incredible milestone both for us and Tampa’s growing dining scene. Receiving this recognition, especially in our first year of opening, is a testament to our commitment to culinary excellence and a validation for our entire team,” said Fraser. “We are grateful to Ian Schrager, the hotel’s ownership and entire EDITION team, as it would not have been possible to bring our culinary vision to life without their support.”
Lilac first opened in 2022 and immerses guests through curated offerings, pairings and flavor profiles. Recognized by the Florida Michelin Guide, Lilac complements The Tampa EDITION’s high standards.

May 31, 2023Homer and Janet by Homer Review
The Marais District, covering swaths of Paris’ 3rd and 4th arrondissments, has a distinctively gritty glamour that reveals it to be one of the city’s great incubators for new French food, fashion and lifestyle trends. It is here Moïse Sfez took on the challenge of creating street food establishments Homer in 2017 and Janet by Homer in 2022, doing it in such a way they both transcend the novelty of being regional American comfort food offered at stylized lunch counters matching up with New England lobster shacks and New York delis. Overwhelming local response and Sfez winning the 2018 Lobster Roll World’s Championship title in Portland, Maine, solidified him as a Paris restaurateur and one of France’s hottest culinary stars.
