Seattle Sojourn, Part 1
Several months ago, some friends and my husband and I looked into going to Seattle to see the Rolling Stones in concert there, scheduled for May of this year. We booked rooms and then, when we saw the price of the tickets, decided we'd keep our rooms, possibly get our tickets outside the stadium the day of the concert, and still enjoy a few days in Seattle, with or without the Stones. As it turned out (with the concert cancelled due to Mick Jagger's health issue), that proved to be a wise move, especially as the few days we were there, Seattle enjoyed some lovely, sunny, spring weather.

Remarkable Medellín
Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.

Security Lines in the U.S.
In this week’s eFlyer USA, I take a closer look at how the current government shutdown impacts different government agencies. I looked most closely at the Transportation Security Administration. The common thinking is, as pay is less and less guaranteed, more and more workers responsible for keeping our skies safe will call out, leading to longer and longer lines and, eventually, perhaps, compromised security operations.

The Thompson Seattle
One of my favorite cities in the United States is Seattle, Washington, and I am lucky enough to visit for business (and a little leisure) a few times per year. I had heard about the uber-trendy hotel, The Thompson Seattle, for several years and finally got to try it out this August.
