Introduced and managed by Sonesta International Hotels Corporation, Sonesta Select and Sonesta Simply Suites celebrated their first anniversary since launching in December 2020. Responsible for almost 2,500 new hires in the last year, Sonesta Simply Suites and Sonesta Select allowed Sonesta as a whole to become one of the fastest-growing hotel companies in the United States.
With more than 60 locations across the country, Sonesta Select focuses on providing affordable, modern comfort for travelers through spacious rooms and well-crafted, flexible common areas. Located in growth markets and near urban hubs, Sonesta Select caters to travelers looking for Sonesta’s signature hospitality.

In 2021, Sonesta launched The Commons, a shared space for socializing, relaxing and enjoying refreshments, to enhance the brand’s focus on providing shared spaces for relaxation and complete comfort. Sonesta Select properties also include optional amenities such as a swim at the pool, a morning cappuccino or evening cocktail, or a sit by the fire pit.
Like Sonesta Select, Sonesta Simply Suites also saw an exceptional year of growth. A mid-market extended stay brand offering guests apartment-like amenities, the more than 60 locations of Sonesta Simply Suites continue to grow in 2022. Sonesta Simply Suites provides guests with amenities including an equipped kitchen, free on-site laundry facilities, fitness center and a designated workspace with a desk and complimentary WiFi.
“In its first year, Sonesta Simply Suites has exceeded expectations with a year-to-date market penetration index of 104.5,” said Quinn. “We see tremendous opportunity for growth from conversions and new development projects fueled by the brand’s continued superior performance within the extended stay segment.”
Sonesta Simply Suites accommodates all types of guests, from those traveling for work to those relocating the family. Sonesta Simply Suites can be found throughout key markets, like the Southwest and Sunbelt, as well as close to major tourism and industry hubs like the Las Vegas Convention Center and Dallas.
Sonesta’s success from Sonesta Simply Suites and Sonesta Select are not the only achievements the brand saw in the past year, recently launching its expanded global hotel franchising organization, Sonesta Franchising. This launch included its already established resorts as well as Sonesta Simply Suites and Sonesta Select brands.
