SkyTeam’s dedicated lounge at Sydney Airport reopened recently, welcoming SkyTeam Elite Plus, first- and business-class passengers. The lounge was redesigned from head to toe, now boasting floor-to-ceiling windows with views across the runway.
“How better to welcome international travelers back to our Sydney Lounge than with a brand-new, high-quality experience that not only cares for them today but helps look after tomorrow’s travelers,” said Christian Oberlé, chief experience officer, SkyTeam. “It’s exciting to unveil a fresh look for SkyTeam Lounges that embodies our alliance’s commitment to greater sustainability on the ground and in the air.”
Sustainability sits at the forefront of the lounge’s new design, with an abundance of plants; a fresh, airy feel; more light and brightness; and 149 chairs and ottomans reupholstered using GREENGUARD certified upholstery. Travelers find calming blue hues and natural wooden tones. Other sustainability initiatives include eliminating single-use plastics, water-savings cistern and showerheads, movement sensor smart technology, participation in the airport’s waste recycling program and serving locally sourced and sustainably sourced produce.
An á la carte menu crafted by in-house chefs includes a live-cooking station and fresh ingredients like noodles and sustainable fish, with everything made to order. A self-service buffet features hot and cold international dishes all day, and a bartender is on hand as well.
Find the recently reopened lounge airside, near Gate 24 at Pier B, in the International Terminal, welcoming eligible passengers on China Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, Korean Air, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Air from two hours prior to the first flight until the final departure of the day.
