Singapore Airlines announced last week it will launch a non-stop route between Singapore (SIN) and Los Angeles (LAX) in November.
Flights between the cities will operate 10 times every week. Non-stop flights between Singapore and San Francisco (SFO) are increasing from seven to 10 flights each week.
The new Airbus A350-900ULR will serve the route. By the end of 2018, the airline will link to America with 27 weekly non-stop flights.
The route is set to open Nov. 2, with three weekly flights. Flight volume will increase to 10 per week as more A350-900ULR enter service. The airline’s current one-stop route between Singapore and Los Angeles will cease operation after Nov. 30.
“Our US services have always been popular with our customers and we are pleased to be able to provide even more travel options with the launch of non-stop flights between Singapore and Los Angeles, and an increase in frequency on the existing non-stop Singapore-San Francisco route,” said Goh Choon Phong, CEO, Singapore Airlines.
Singapore Airlines is the first in the world to employ the ultra long-range A350-900ULR.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
