For those who missed our annual GT Tested awards event at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, don’t miss our recap article with pictures of all the winners and attendees, beginning on page 36. What a magnificent event and a pleasure to see those who attended from all corners of the world. It was also a great honor to connect the GT Tested awards to our sponsored charity, Children’s Crisis Treatment Center. At the CCTC annual event this past December, GT raised much-needed funding for this charity through generous donations from the industry and subscribers, who took the opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause. Many thanks to all the airlines, hotels and tourist boards that contributed to the success of this year’s auction. We expect to see many more donations next year as we continue our relationship with CCTC.

After hosting a successful subscriber cruise this past October on AmaWaterways, we plan to craft another adventure this November in Tahiti. Windstar Cruises will create a special package for Global Traveler readers to board Star Breeze for a relaxing island-hopping cruise Nov. 18–28. I will host this cruise on the totally refurbished Star Breeze, which Windstar bought to expand its fleet, adding a new section in the middle of the ship to make it an all-suite product. Some amazing videos show Star Breeze undergoing its transformation, and I encourage you to view this feat of engineering. Better yet, join us and witness the ship yourself this coming November! |
