Plan now to witness the 2021 total solar eclipse aboard a Hurtigruten expedition ship. The world leader in expedition travel announced its expeditions for the event, which include Antarctica itineraries on modern and environmentally friendly ships.

“We will sail both the world’s first hybrid electric-powered expedition ship, the MS Roald Amundsen, and her sister ship, the MS Fram, to prime positions outside the South Orkney Islands aiming to see this spectacular natural phenomenon,” said Daniel Skjeldam, CEO, Hurtigruten.

The 2021 solar eclipse is only visible from Antarctica, with the next similar event not occurring for nearly eight decades. The Hurtigruten itinerary for the eclipse includes a team of experts providing lectures, insights and guidance on topics such as oceanography, photography, glaciology and marine biology.
