Four Seasons Hotel Austin is hinting at a magical upcoming holiday season. Make your reservations now to be in Austin to see the property’s extravagant lobby display. Plans this year include a magnificent gingerbread village and snow globes, with dozens of miniature gingerbread scenes reflecting the theme of friendship. The holiday lobby display debuts Nov. 25.

“I’ve always been enamored by the magic that lives within snow globes. I remember as a kid, tipping them left and right, turning them over and watching in wonder as the miniature snowflakes whirled all around,” says Amanda Pallagi-Naim, executive pastry chef, Four Seasons Hotel Austin. “Each year we aim to choose a concept that will appeal to both children and adults, so I love how this year’s theme wraps a beloved holiday symbol into a universal message of friendship.”

The gingerbread creations will reflect some of Austin’s favorite destinations, such as the Capitol, Barton Springs Pool, Lady Bird Lake and iconic restaurants around the city. Other fixtures are replicas of landmarks in Austin’s sister cities, such as the Usa Shrine in Oita, Japan, and the Chateau d’Angers in Angers, France.

“It was truly difficult to narrow our choices down from Austin’s 14 sister cities, as each one has distinct charms and beautiful architecture. Ultimately it came down to how my team connected with the destination personally and our passion for recreating the buildings in gingerbread,” said Pallagi-Naim.

Portions of the display will be sold to sponsors and proceeds donated to Austin’s People’s Community Clinic.
