Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, lies in the heart of Warsaw, the oldest part of the city. With buildings dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, Old Town features iconic structures and places like the Royal Castle, Barbica, city walls and squares, and St. John’s Cathedral. This fascinating statue, dubbed the Mermaid of Warsaw, represents Warsaw’s coat of arms, which can be traced back to 1390. The statue also points to many legends about the mermaid.
