One of Seattle’s main attractions recently underwent a massive expansion, a two-year project that will close and debut this June.
The $74 million project, known as the MarketFront, will add nearly 30,000 additional square feet to the existing public space, including 300 more underground parking spaces. Farmers and artisans will be able to sell their goods directly from 47 new rooftop stalls, and shoppers can stop to refuel at a full-service brewery (Old Stove Brewing Company), seafood restaurant, chocolatier (Indi Chocolate) and biscuit café (Honest Biscuits).
Located on the banks of the Puget Sound, Pike Place Market is a Seattle staple and encompasses an outdoor food market that serves and sells some of the city’s freshest fish, caught by fisherman and sold the same day. Visitors can easily spend hours strolling the market with views of the Puget Sound and mountains in the backdrop.

May 1, 2024One of Hawai’i’s Most Popular (and Controversial) Attractions Being Demolished
If you haven’t actually climbed them, you’ve seen beautiful photos of them at one time or another: Hawai’i’s Stairway to Heaven, located on Oahu. The 3,922-step hike ascends Koolau Mountain Range and has been illegal to hike since 1987. But this has not stopped travelers and locals from doing so, even with a steep fine of $1,000 for trespassing.
