The Park Hotel in Tokyo has a long-standing tradition of celebrating local art and culture. Its newest art exhibit, called KARUTA Exhibition, is set to run through Feb. 5, and from Feb. 13–26.

The hotel holds four art exhibitions each year to showcase the iconic Japanese cultural aesthetics of each season. The winter exhibition will feature artworks on the theme of Karuta, a traditional Japanese card game. The exhibit will be featured in the ART Lounge as well as dining areas throughout the hotel.

The art-focused hotel also features Artist Rooms, where selected Japanese artists are invited to paint on the walls and ceilings during their stay. The rooms themselves are transformed into works of art based on the concept of Beauty of Japan. The most recent installment is The Tale of Genji, the 27^th in the Artist Room series.

Takushi Mizuno, Tokyo artist, said, “The Tale of Genji is a literary work and cultural heritage. I expressed the mythical atmosphere which I felt through the story in this Artist Room.”

With its new concept, infinite time and space amid cognizant Japanese beauty, the Park Hotel in Tokyo plans to continue maximizing the role of Japanese aesthetics and hospitality throughout the luxury hotel, offering guests a unique cultural experience.
