Headed by renowned designer Shigeru Namba, Nobu Palo Alto’s Japanese-inspired restaurant and garden officially opened to the public this month, in which a sophisticated and refined extension greets patrons upon arrival. The new space and garden offer guests and diners an unparalleled venue in downtown Palo Alto, California, playing upon the seasons to showcase flora during its proper blooming periods.

Large and specially selected boulders from Japan were individually positioned to enhance every quality of the garden, from the soothing water feature to the Japanese-inspired accent plants adorning the space. The new restaurant and garden, accessible through the hotel’s lobby, invites guests to peruse among the flora before sitting at an outdoor table specifically positioned to allow diners to enjoy views across the garden. The garden will even be visible streetside via a decorative bronze gate.

The interior of the restaurant, designed for private events and overflow of the main restaurant, is enclosed by a full-room skylight for endless natural light. The garden can hold up to 54 guests between the enclosed dining room (with seating for 30) and banquette seating (with seating for 24). A retractable awning for shade is also featured.

Nobu Palo Alto underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2020, the same year the brand opened Nobu Chicago, Nobu London Portman Square, Nobu Riyadh and Nobu Hotel Warsaw.
