Wild Women Expeditions offers three departures of its new 2020 itinerary, Land of the Long White Cloud Ride. The itinerary, for the Maori name for New Zealand, is a women-only horseback riding expedition with a special focus on equine-assisted learning. Riders develop a positive relationship with their horse while learning important values through horseback riding.

“Horses have unique characteristics which contribute to a distinct human-animal interaction. They have evolved as intuitive, sensitive creatures that can be a motivator of strength and calmness,” said Jennifer Haddow, owner and guiding director, Wild Women Expeditions. “Empowering women to free themselves of fear, no matter what challenges they face, is fundamental to our travel mission, for guests and guides alike. The itinerary kicks off in Queenstown, New Zealand, after which participants travel to Lake Hawea to meet their horses at a 16,000-acre working ranch. Guests journey through the rugged backcountry of Hawea Conservation Park, a region filled with amazing natural scenery and interesting historical tidbits. The ride takes guests to one of the country’s best fly-fishing tributaries and through the mountains.

Trips depart in January, February and December 2020 and itineraries begin at $5,295 per person. The rate includes 10 nights of accommodations, all meals, a winery tour, hire of horses and all tack and equipment and return transportation.
