Marriott International announced a new collaboration between its SpringHill Suites brand and Society6 that will result in curated gallery walls in more than 450 SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotels across North America. Each hotel’s gallery wall will feature artwork from one of 10 geographic regions, each striving to express that region’s style. The 10 regions include Canada and Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, California, Southwest, West, Midwest, Texas and Oklahoma, South, Florida and North Atlantic. Each art piece on a gallery wall will be sourced from an independent artist tied to the region represented.
“SpringHill Suites is delighted to collaborate with Society6 to further enhance our hotels’ stylish surroundings in properties across the United States and Canada,” said Janis Milham, senior vice president and global brand leader, classic select brands, Marriott International. “This creative collaboration helps guests better experience their destination through art and when paired with our spacious all-suite design, creates a hotel stay that is beyond the expected.”
The artwork will also be displayed on hotel key cards and guests can purchase the art pieces reprinted on a variety of objects, from phone cases to yoga mats.
“With an eye for design, partnering with SpringHill Suites by Marriott on The Gallery Wall made perfect sense,” said Sara Jackson, vice president of sales, Society6. “Society6’s foundation is built around supporting our 300,000-plus artists worldwide, and through the partnership, we are able to curate unique, artist-designed products to bring a compelling story to over 450 SpringHill Suites properties.”

Based on their respective locations and divergent personalities, it’s inevitable there will be New York vs. Los Angeles (or San Francisco) comparisons when discussing the South Korean cities of Seoul and Busan. While Seoul is known as the nation’s business and government hub, Busan is defined by its coastline, beaches, cliffs, mountains and a slower — but by no means sleepy — pace. The city’s public hot springs, historic temples, ornate parklands, regional South Korean flavors and spins on global trends (like craft beer) also distinguish it from its Western counterparts.
