From June 30–Aug. 11, more than 160 singers and performers will fill stages throughout Colorado’s iconic mountain villages of Crested Butte and Gunnison. Highlights of the 2013 Crested Butte Music Festival include Gypsy Jazz in Paradise, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, a free outdoor performance by Boston Brass, and a wealth of American folk music and bluegrass.
In addition to public performance venues, this year’s festival includes six intimate soirées in private homes with the American String Quartet, Takács Quartet, tenor Marcello Giordani, and performers led by Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone and festival opera director Keith Miller. New this year will be an additional summer concert series at I Bar Ranch featuring Burgers and Bluegrass on Tuesdays (June 11–July 30) and Classic Country Music on Thursdays (June 20–Aug. 15). A great excuse to get out your fancy summer boots.
