Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic Exhibitions announced a unique art exhibition aboard the new National Geographic Endurance. The ship-wide art installation is curated by Zaria Forman, an acclaimed artist known for her large-scale pastel drawings themed around climate change.

The exhibit is the first-ever permanent, ship-based polar art installation. The exhibit includes work from more than 35 artists across a range of mediums, including drawings, paintings, photography, sculpture and videography. All of the work is somehow related to the polar regions, whether it depicts humankind’s relationship with the polar regions, or the polar regions’ vast landscapes.

“Zaria was challenged to mount the definitive polar exhibition aboard our polar ship, and her curation has, I believe, led to one of the finest collections of art examining the power and vulnerability of these rarified geographies anywhere in the world,” said Sven Lindblad, CEO, Lindblad Expeditions.

“Every piece of art is proof of the profound impact this environment can have on an individual,” added Forman. “The exhibit will be a shared experience, enabling our guests to feel part of something much larger than their own individual observations. And hopefully it will guide them down the path closest to my heart — to be so moved by the landscapes that lay in front them, they will want to protect and preserve them.”
