The Luxe Collection by L.E. Hotels welcomes a sweet addition to its portfolio with the opening of Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, a restored 17^th-century sugar plantation located in the Canary Islands.

The adults-only property is the first hotel built in Tazacorte on the island of San Miguel de La Palma — a destination known for its abundance of sunshine. The hotel’s design includes much of the original layout of the sugar estate, including its traditional Canarian architecture and more than 1,300 pieces of furnishings and artifacts. The historic property sits between lush vegetation and the coast, offering views of the sea and surrounding banana crops.

“Luxe Collection classifications are not easy to come by,” said Efrem Harkham, founder and chairman, L.E. Hotels. “To start, a property must have historical significance, a prime location and the finest services and amenities, and Hotel Hacienda de Abajo meets the mark in every regard.”

The intimate property has 32 guestrooms and suites ranging from classic double rooms to premium single rooms with a balcony, terrace or garden access. All rooms come with L’Occitane amenities and eco-friendly mattresses, bedding and towels. Rooms and public spaces are adorned with art, furnishings and tapestries from the largest private art collection on the island.=

Hotel services and amenities include a freshwater swimming pool, a Bath House and the signature El Sitio restaurant.
